About Me

Hi! I’m Erika.

I am a freelance Japanese-to-English translator currently pursuing a master’s degree in Translation and Localization Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in beautiful Monterey, California.

I am pursuing a career in the translation and localization field because I want to help bring the world together. There are so many people working on projects that benefit people every day, and it is my goal to help them expand their work throughout the world.

I have five years of experience in translation work and am growing my skills everyday. I have translated speeches, tourism pamphlets, informational and technical documents, communications, and more. I also have experience in interpretation, international education, event management, budget management, writing, and editing.

I am a wanderer at heart, having lived in Maryland, Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, and California – as well as Japan, the Netherlands, and the Philippines. I love photography, hiking, and playing taiko drums. If you’re lucky you may even find some of my photos on this page!
